The Midtown Alley Business Alliance
A coalition of business owners, stakeholders and residents to support & grow Midtown Alley
The Midtown Alley Business Alliance is a non-profit started by neighborhood business owners, stakeholders and residents. The Alliance was established to support, promote and grow the Midtown Alley district and the businesses within it. The Alliance is committed to realizing the vision of the collective community in creating St. Louis’s first true “creative district.” MABA is working to first focus on placemaking, beautification and developing a cohesive community, and then to promote and attract visitors, businesses, development and new opportunities to the District at large.
The focuses and priorities of the Midtown Alley Business Alliance were directed by community input sessions and are:
Placemaking and Beautification
Marketing and Public Relations
“Putting Midtown on the Map”
Events & Community Building
The Work of the Midtown Alley Business Alliance Board
Placemaking & Beautification
In a series of community meetings held in 2022-2023, residents expressed a desire for the Midtown Alley Business Alliance Board to focus time, attention and energy on neighborhood beautification efforts. At their direction, the Board opened a call for mural artists and locations in 2023 and was able to move forward with two substantial murals for the District - “Spring” by Edo Rosenblith on the back wall of Red Flag and “Queen of Wands” by Simiya Sudduth on the west-facing wall of Sincerely the Craft on Locust. Additionally, locally artists contributed artwork for a series of pole banners that can be seen throughout the District.
With continued support of membership and stakeholders, the MABA board hopes to continue with beautification efforts including lighting, trees, planting and short-term temporary installations throughout the District.
Marketing & Public Relations: Putting Midtown on the Map
Volunteers from the Board have undertaken website updates, public relations & marketing work to start telling the story of the neighborhood. In 2024, there was also a massive update to the Midtown Alley Business Alliance website. We are always looking for Board Members and volunteers to help us take this to the next level. If you would be interested, please reach out to the board at mababoard@gmail.com for more information.

Events & Community Building
The Midtown Alley Business Alliance has worked to establish monthly Trashy Hour events, where neighbors spend 30 minutes each month cleaning up the neighborhood and cap it off with a social hour at one of the neighborhood bars or restaurants.
We are also the new host neighborhood for the Moonlight Ramble as of 2024. The annual Moonlight Ramble is the “World’s Original Nighttime Bike Ride",” taking place in St. Louis, Missouri held at night near the full moon in August. The ride attracts thousands of riders each year with a leisurely bike ride through the closed streets of St. Louis.
The Board continues to also support neighbor generated events such as Design Week, Toxxed and Tatted by Golden Gems, Cars and Coffee by Cherry Garage, National Ice Cream Day by The Fountain on Locust and more. Follow us on social media (links in footer) for the latest on our neighborhood events.
